I always use the spoon theory to explain how it is to live with the things I deal with..
The spoon theory is a way to explain what it's like to live with a chronic illness, fatigue, or disability.
Imagine you start your day with a limited number of spoons—let’s say 12 spoons. Each spoon represents your energy. Every activity you do—like getting dressed, cooking, going to work, or even taking a shower—costs you one or more spoons. When you run out of spoons, you’re out of energy for the day.
People without chronic conditions often have an unlimited or renewable supply of energy, so they don’t think twice about daily tasks. But for someone with a health issue, they have to plan their day carefully and sometimes skip things because they don’t have enough "spoons."
It helps others understand that energy is limited and that people with chronic conditions have to make tough choices just to get through the day.
