Now here's a truly polarising talent, but he did make two great films that essentially bookended his career. Along with "The King of Comedy", this was a brilliant piece of cinema and they stand in stark contrast to each other. The voice Lewis uses when doing his intro to the film he got from Stan Freberg who stands as the opening salvo of this thread. Still have no idea why the French loved everything Lewis did, I blame the Bikini Atoll nuclear tests, karma and all that.
The dystopian weirdness from the 80s that gave every robocomic some shoulders to stand on. I'll even include his funkatrauma hit with Art of Noise, "Paranoimia".
There was no way I could let this go by. The original Mastermind hosted by Magnus Magnusson (an incredible intellect - I've read a number of his translations of the Icelandic sagas) was a favourite target for a number of English comedians and Magnusson was more than happy to play along. A testament to all involved.
