Group Banter Race to a million

Explain this downfall in terms I will understand. I will eventually upgrade to a newer thingy but will I be foolish to get an Xbox?
During the Xbox One era they lost momentum because PlayStation had stronger exclusive games. Since then, Microsoft stopped focusing mainly on selling consoles and shifted toward selling Game Pass subscriptions instead.

Now their goal isn’t “buy our box,” it’s “play our games anywhere.” That includes PC and sometimes even PlayStation. That makes them feel less like a traditional console brand and more like a game service company.

The console is still solid and Game Pass is good value.
But PlayStation currently has stronger exclusives and a clearer long term console identity.

I’d recommend wait and buy a steam machine (but sadly steam pushed the luanch back) or a steam deck (Hope would be the one you want to talk to about that)
