Group Banter Race to a million

what's the story with the chimney?
its not the chimney, actually.

I live in a three story home, with ~9' ceilings. My house is quite tall. Because of that...

*flash back sounds*

Its my exterior dryer vent. Last year a bird built a nest just inside the exterior portion of the vent. I called one place to come out and fix it, they said they could. after an unsuccessful attempt, he realized he couldn't do it. I called another dude. came out with a 60' ladder, couldnt get it set up, ended up using my neighbors deck and a 20' ladder to shimmy up on the roof, and hang down, clear out the nest, and attach a cage to keep critters out.

BUT

He knocked off a portion of the vent, and I was unaware. there's a flap inside of dryer vents to keep dust and shit from getting out, and he knocked it out. So now the cage he installed is filled with lint, and my dryer can no longer dry clothes, and it became a huge fire hazard.
two weeks ago I had two companies come out. one said they couldn't do it. one missed my first appointment, showed up late for the second one, AND came unprepared.

This is now the THIRD company.

Now, I have since learned, that I need to find CHIMNEY companies, because they are typically the only ones who can service homes of that size, but not every chimney company services vents as well.

So it has been a very frustrating ordeal.
