Many users do not want this too. You will end losing more users than you would have gained by implementing this. Why dont you make it an user choice so that people who want it can display it and those who dont want need not display it. You can even make the country to be displayed as default...

I too prefer the old one.. I don't want my location to be shown openly. I see that there is no way to turn it off in the new chat. I feel this should be left to the user to choose whether to show the country or not. There are still some countries where being LGBTQ is considered to be a crime.
