I am writing to formally request the creation of a D_A_CH Chatroom to serve the combined communities of Germany (D), Austria (A), and Switzerland (CH).
Suggestions for Roomnames: DACH_Lounge (or _Chat _Community) , DE-CH-AT , GER-CH-AT , TheUmlautAlliance , Alpine-Rhine&Danube_Lounge , CentralEuropeanSummit .
Our community has made multiple requests for regional spaces in the past, all of which were denied. However, we have noticed that several other country-specific and regional rooms, including UKchat, IndiaSex, CanadaChat, IrishChat and most recently, Nederlanders, have been approved and created.
Continuing to deny a space for German-speaking Central Europe, as well as other regions like Scandinavia , Benelux ,the Baltic States , the Balkans , the Iberian Peninsula and so forth, while actively opening multiple other regional rooms feels deeply inconsistent and unfair to a massive segment of your user base.
We love this platform and simply want a fair, designated space to more easily connect with our countrymen, just as UK, Canadian, Irish, Indian, and Dutch users are currently allowed to do.
And to clarify, since it is your most favored argument against it: it is NOT about using our native language(s) in public spaces, it is about more easily locating users from our respective areas.
We ask the administration to reconsider their previous stance and approve the DACH Chat, and maybe consider giving the same fair treatment to your entire userbase and include the other regions I aswell. (maybe consider getting rid of single country-specific rooms and merge them into regional ones to begin with...)
