@ThePyrate it is quite ironic that the genesis of the "holiday of love" originated from such a dark and horrific event. Such is the tradition of many such days, however, lol. I will elect to celebrate the day for what it has become, rather than what it once was. :)

There was also a mobster by the name of Al Capone who took part in a bloody gang shooting back in the late 20's i believe. The press called the "St. Valentines Day Massacre"

And in past years, I have had no reason to celebrate that particular day as it held no meaning to me. But this year obviously is quite different.

Well, of course it is... for obvious reasons.

How will I treat myself is what I'm thinking hahaha I know people think that holiday is just for couples but I try to see it as a self-love day for singles too. I love to eat some chocolates too lol

I hope one day, you both find love and happiness. I once felt as you both did. Then I met Brett in person after nearly 3 years of chatting with him here, and everything changed. Sometimes, it can happen when you least expect it, when you are not even seeking it.

Lol oh it doesn't bother me that I don't have a man really I mean I choose to be single then don't gotta worry about stuff. Last serious relationship I dated that guy for 5 years and then we broke up I got sick with my illnesses so didn't care to date I guess lol

It's not for everyone. I was quite content being single myself after having quite a few failed relationships. I initially just asked if Alora would go to a concert with me, since the guy I was supposed to go with got sick and had to back out last minute. I didn't even think she'd say yes. She did, and from there, everything blossomed. Sometimes, it just happens.

Oh ya I've learned that you don't go looking for love, let love find you for sure.

I am sorry that happened to you, @highimstorm. Before I met Brett, my longest relationship was 3 months,. I'd either meet men that only cared about my looks or were scared off by my height (I am 5'10", 6 feet in heels) or my religion (I am Wiccan). I had no interest in meeting anyone. But Brett was always respectful and kind, so I took a chance on him. And I'd say it has worked out quite well. :)

@Alora23 it's alright I feel there is a purpose behind everything so just what it is. Yea usually most guys are scared or turned off that I have chronic illnesses as one dude told me that no one is going to want a sick girl but I beg to differ because anything is possible.

Same thing for me with certain things like with my beliefs and me being a Christian because some people like to view Christians all the same. Also I'm a very outspoken and strong woman and some men are intimidated by it. Glad you found Brett though

@highimstorm never listen to naysayers. Negativity is a cancerous emotion and will eat at your psyche if you allow it. Surround yourself with good, kind people and good things tend to happen. :)
