I'm doing alright. kinda surprised that i'm still awake, tbh with you... maybe its due to how long i slept yesterday.

Well it seems you got plenty of rest then :) I feel rested after a most pleasant weekend, and as usual, am the first one awake. Even the cats are asleep, lol.

Glad to hear that and yeah, cats tend to sleep for extended periods of time... at least until they hear the sound of the food dish being moved / filled. lol

Heh Brett usually goes downstairs to feed them right around the time I head back upstairs to begin work.

Makes sense. I'm guessing the bowls are kept in the basement?

I had two bowls for abbie. one in the living room and the other in the bedroom, next to her water until she started getting too fat from eating so much. lol Then the bedroom one was taken away and she was made to wait until i was awake to get her breakfast.

I should clarify. We have 3 levels to our condo, upstairs, main floor, basement. The cat food dishes reside on the main floor. Brett comes downstairs to the main floor from our bedroom in the morning to feed them before he goes to work.

Ah, okay. :) Do they get fed only once a day?
Alora23
Alora23
He feeds them each 3 times a day about a 1/3 cup of food at a time. Both are at a healthy weight and he is careful not to overfeed them.

I gotcha :) The only times i intentionally overfed abbie was when i was going to be out of town or over to my moms, and even then i had a neighbor come over to check on her and add more to her bowl if it was empty.

I couldn't bring abbie with me to her place as she also had a cat and they did not like each other one bit ( her cat and abbie that is, my mom had nothing against her )

We plan to use an open feeder while on our trip next month. We are hoping we do not return home to find either cat to be noticeably plumper or to find vomit on the carpet, lol.

I get that and I tried the open feeder option with abbie once, and quickly discovered that it was easier having someone stop by every couple days. lol

Brett's mother lives next door but as she is frail and struggles to maintain her balance we do not feel comfortable asking her to assist.

I will be logging off shortly, love. We can continue to converse through email if you would like.

I'll come feed the cats for ya if Clarissa and I can use the pool table!

I knew there was a reason why you offered to feed the cats. You wouldn't drive 35 miles out here simply for that.

I have an allergy to cats, unfortunately. I suppose I wouldn't be able to visit you and Brett after all.

I can always keep them in a room with food, water and a makeshift litter box for a few hours while you visit. I'd make sure to vacuum the carpet and couches too so they'd be free of hair.

@Hoz Brett, what breeds are the cats?
