I'm also reading the asylum confessions by John Steel. It's a series of books he has written.

there are 8 books with this series. It tells stories of a night nurse at an asylum for the criminally insane who offers serial killers and mass murderers a deal: in exchange for an easy death, they must confess their crimes to him. The nurse, known as the Angel of Death, wants the real story, not the one the killers have told anyone else.

Some stories are based on some real people but in the book things are changed and most of them die when the people it's based on in real life are still in prison or have gotten out depending on the crimes. Again it's interesting. Just wanted to share a little more about it.

Ok that sounds fantastic. I'm definitely going to get that. Horror and true crime mix is 100% up my alley
