It should be pointed out that content needs to be your own content you create, not someone else's content that's been altered to your liking (or you'll get yourself into legal trouble with owners of original content (laws vary)).
Hi. I'm really interested as I've been sharing pics of my face (no nudes) on this site for years now and even made a couple of friends. Will we have to verify ourselves just like Reddit? I'd rather not as I don't want my boyfriend finding out. Thanks
Also you folks have been pushing the narrative for a while now that "If they're asking for money they are almost certainly a scammer" so there's quite a pivot here for you to consider in terms of messaging.
The current system warns people that anyone asking for money is almost certainly a scammer. Anyone who is a regular or even semi-regular here would have seen those warnings in chats many times - maybe even taken the message on board like you presumably want them to. Now you are changing this, and legitimizing the behavior of asking for money. It's possible that many will assume these people are scammers because that is what FCN has been pushing as a message for some time now.
What does that have to with the future where things will be legitimized? How do we know someone asking for money isn't a scammer when things aren't currently legitimized? Establishments change their scope of operations all the time and this is no different. It's a non-issue.
Its relevance should be obvious and I'm not sure I can make it any clearer than I have, sorry. I have no issue with the messaging. I have no issue with the change. I am merely pointing out that it is a significant one that, to a large extent, contradicts previous messaging/policy, and so you may want to consider that. Purely as an example, current messaging warning about scams could also mention this new system as a way to more safely engage in paying for content. That would achieve the important goal of protecting people, without giving them the impression that any paid content in this space is a scam. Hopefully that makes sense. If you think this is a non-issue that's fine too. Y'all asked for feedback so I shared my thoughts.
Things will change when the time comes. The past policy will obviously be revamped to meet the new operations. I don't see how the present will affect the future.
There's no blueprint in-place yet. There's nothing to think about when looking at your posts. It's simply not applicable to something which doesn't exist.
@Stanthropical Is there a general timeline for this feature, such as by next year it will be inputted, or this year it will be inputted, etc.?
This does sound interesting to me. However I’m sure none of us ever came here for the hopes of money. My thing is on the form they asked about my social media and I for one come here because my life out there and my “life” here have ZERO ties. So I would have no interest in gathering a follower base anywhere but right here. The rules here are what helps keep things on point for the most part and exclusive to those who can follow said rules. This kinda sounds like the floodgates might be open and I honestly don’t even know what that would look like.
2 questions. 1. Its been asked twice but hasn't been answered yet; how will people who participate be paid? 2. I'm a writer so would content like e-books be acceptable? Having just finished my latest tome', I now have 18 titles (16 of which are already already selling on places like I-books, BookCountry, Amazon.. etc) I am bound by the terms and conditions of these e-seller sites that I am not allowed to either exceed the selling price of the books currently sell for nor an I permitted to under-cut the listed selling price. I am however permitted to make direct personal sales. Ls x
Not sure people come here for books, unless you can offer relevant literature content. You never know, though.
