Disturbed's version of Sound of Silence is super swell, sure, but there are more. This is one of my favorites. I'll start with just 1 for now... it's only fair.

The talk-up is worth the listen as well.

Jimi Hendrix covering Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" is one of my favorites.

 

I always thought When the Levee Breaks was a Zeppelin original. Never knew it was a cover. Thanks for the info.

 

Boyce Avenue are like Youtube cover kings. My favorite of theirs is This Year's Love, originally by David Gray, whose version I love, but still...

Johnny Cash - "Hurt" (Nine Inch Nails Cover)

 

As much as I like Galaxy Aflame's version, this version is just great

 

One of my favorite songs from way back. Love this more bluesy version...

 

I love Cash's version of that song. He really made it his own.

 

Love his version too, some covers are better than the originals.

 

It bothers me that he sings the verses backwards, but that voice... I'll deal. This is from 10+ years ago, and he went on to win America's Got Talent, I think it was 2 or 3 seasons ago.

Metallica, “Whiskey in the Jar” (Thin Lizzy)

 

Next to the original this has to be the best cover of Whiskey in the Jar I've heard

 

It is one of my favorite, it seems it has some folk Irish roots, but the song's origins are unknown.

 

Grateful Dead. When I paint my masterpiece. Dylan did the original. And Jodeci Lately. Liked their arrangement better than Stevie Wonders

 

Not quite as good as Otis but as close as I've ever heard.
