Didn't see a thread for this. Sometimes it's a song you've never heard before, or it can be a song you knew but takes on a different meaning when placed within a film or TV show. Post your favorites here.
Been catching up on Stranger Things before the new season. Lots of lost 80's tracks sprinkled throughout this show. This Icicle Works song ended the last episode I saw.
I like the sound tracks for "Firestarter," "Better of Dead," "White Water Summer," "Marie Antoinette," (2006) "Spread," and "Thief" and even though Miami Vice was a TV series, EVERY SINGLE SONG FROM THE TV SERIES IS SWEET HONEY TO MY EARS!
Excellent idea @JackieTreehorn . Man, there is a lot to choose from for me. One of the ones that tops my list is the cult classic "The Warriors" and this little tidbit
An absolutely fantastic soundtrack from start to finish is from the movie "Phenomenon" including Aaron Neville singing this, one of my favorite love songs ever.
Don't know how many of you have seen the movie "Local Hero" but Mark Knopfler wrote the soundtrack and this theme song and it is one of my favorites of his. The live version was included on Dire Straits greatest hits album.
"Brothers in Arms" is an under-rated song, lost among the hits from the Dire Straits album of the same name, imo. It was on the soundtrack of "Spy Game" (2001)
When it comes to Dire Straits, the devil would only know how many times I've hit the replay button to Sultans of Swing... but Brothers In Arms is a classic track too, albeit slightly underrated as @JackieTreehorn wrote. To my mind comes a song off the soundtrack of The Big Lebowski, by the band Creedence Clearwater Revival. Also to be found in the soundtrack of the same flick, this is a rare acoustic version of Hotel California not performed by The Eagles.
