Friend online is not online

A user who I befriended yesterday keeps showing up as being online, when he is not

You can re-add your friends by clicking over to Friends list, clicking on + at the top, searching for the username, selecting the result and clicking on Add.
Friend list will sync up with followed users once only the new chat is in-service.
