Guests viewing threads

I have noticed that quite a few guests come here and look at posts. Can we restrict post viewing unless you are registered?

 

seriously.... just say no to lurkers.

Can't remove Guest access here and continue Guest permission in chat. There needs to be consistency.

Guests can't post anyway.

 

Maybe they cant post, but they certainly can read everything we put in here. First forum I have been to that lets guests read posts.
Maybe we can create a members only section, and the generic area Guests can access?

 

Guests can see everything in chat, even post.

I sometimes search the web for information I need an stumble upon that info in forums which allow Guest viewing. The practice of a Guest permission encourages membership.

 

True.. but members should be allotted a private section that can only be accessed through membership. Allowing privacy AND increasing membership.
Many people will sign up just to be able to read the forums

 

If Guest access is disabled here, it would only be fair to disable it in chat.

 

so there is no way to make two separate sections? One for registered users and one public?

 

Cant you restrict access to your profile like...make it to where only registered members can see anything?

 

it seems funny that we have to register with our emails and guests who don't have the same access
