At one of the last party events I organized that some of the men were talking about me, but for most of the night I ignored them. I'm not an eavesdropper, but while I was on the other side of the stage curtain, two of the men - Marshall & Bruce, both in their early 30's, handsome, but with that arrogance that comes from money - walked into the backstage area to smoke what had to be a marijuana joint from the smell of it. They hadn't seen me and I was about to tell them it was a safety and fire hazard to be smoking backstage, but then I heard Marshal use my name in a sentence that included phrases "to perfect not to be paid for" and comparing me to two actresses I never heard of and then I heard Bruce say, "She's perfect for porn." And they both laughed. I felt so embarrassed that I hadn't realized they didn't seem to be complimenting me, but almost as if they maybe knew I was backstage already and they made the comments to be mean? I can't exactly remember the two names of the "MILF" porn actresses they named... I'm assuming all men must watch porn (not judging anyone for it) and might know who they were refering to that I look like and what your thoughts are?
I'm surprised how I'm feeling a bit nervous to do this but.... normally I don't spend my time at events I organize by socializing with the client and their guests. Most of my time is spent walking around and making sure things are on time, running smoothly, enough food and beverage, and keeping tabs on any special presentation or surprise is going to go as planned and be flawless. In between, I will use my phone to take pix and video which I give to my son to edit a little video of the event. Or sometimes if I'm going to be too busy, I will have him attend and take the pix and video, which Simon does, but mopes the entire time. Now I know I'm a bit nervous because of how much I'm over explaining. Having a glass of wine before logging on is making me... maybe I should just say what I meant to before I talk myself out of this. If you have an opinion as to whether you agree (or disagree) with the comments Marshall and Bruce said that I was embarrassed about. I hope you will write (either here or in Private Message) to share your thoughts and opinions. If you're someone who only types one line or makes a comment but avoids explaining your reasons behind the comment, I appreciate your response I guess, but you shouldn't expect me to reply to single sentence messages.
