Moderators Banning People For No Reason /Abusing their Power

Yesterday i chated with 2 personal friends of mine, we only sometimes use this site because we had troubles of one of us getting banned again and again. For 3 to 5 days. So yesterday i got blessed with a ban for "spamming URL". The only thing i did, was share meme links with those 2 mentioned friends, (i actually know personaly/IRL) i might have sent the same link to two people without anything in between in PM. And i got banned like i plastered allover the main page.

That's an automated ban by the anti-spam bot. On a website with such traffic numbers and constantly targeting by spammers and scanners, automated response to multiple instances of URL spam is necessary.

I recommend sharing uploaded images rather than URL's.

got wrongfully banned a month ago,Appealed even with proof, still no response ..?

There's never a response. You just get unbanned if an appeal is correct. If your appeal is junk, nobody will waste time. You don't know whether the ban is an automatic system response or a moderator reviewing reported evidence.

Let's not make wild accusations.

Where can I find the new rules posted under in the schat site? When I click on the rules it takes me to the FCN rules page. Where it allows and encourages outside links. Either that rule is still in effect via its clear visibility or the rules on schat are hidden somewhere that I can't seem to locate. Thank you for your time

A few months ago, when I logged off everything was fine. When I logged back in I was banned.

I went through the process to appeal the ban without response.

The last thing I did was watch porn with someone and share links to pornhub. Sharing a link to a streaming tube isn't copyright infringement. There's established Supre Court law on this with Flava Works v Gunter where they found that MyVidster didn't violate any laws for copyright infringement for embedding video from other sites. Sharing a link is not stealing someone's content.


This account is over 3 years old proving I have a history of being here without issue. The changes occuring on this site are not benefiting it. It is a shame because I met some really great people here. Don't get too comfortable though because apparently you can be banned for anything without warning or reason.
 
I tried to share the link to the supreme court case law but was told it was Spam.

Tried to load an image of the case law but that is spam too if you try to host it from imagebb.

All I can say is search for Flava Works v Gunter and Supreme Court.
 
Get a grip, Florida man. Spam bans are either automated with no human involvement, in response to certain patterns and/or URLs, or by a human moderator who determined that your activity and/or content is spam.

Nobody gets a Ban Appeal response. If you are still able to access your profile, it's clearly a temporary chat ban by the bot. Have a cold beer and chill out, bro.
 
Well, thank you so much for the pep talk. It's been two weeks since you posted this and it was a month before that I lost access to the chat. Waiting to say something on a public board for a month is pretty chill in my book. I have access to the new chat but am banned from the old chat. Over three years of coming to this site I met a bunch of people that I communicated with daily that I haven't been able to talk to. I figure I won't be getting back in on the old chat so I'm just learning to make due.

During the pandemic I lost a bunch of friends and some family members. With all of the laws bieng passed in Florida against trans and LGBTQ+ people it just isn't safe to go out. Last time I went to a bar someone in a truck with smoke-belchers pelted the people across the street from my with eggs. This place filled the void that I've experienced in the last year.

PS: My family has lived in Florida for four generations. Over a million people just lost access to Medicaid which was the only way they got treatment for mental health issues. The majority of people that are caught doing "Florida Man" stuff are generally unable to access to health care in this state despite the federal government providing funds to do so. Calling someone a "Florida Man" is generally seen as an insult so I usually reserve it for people riding alligators or playing outside during a hurricane.

There's no ban against your username. I lifted the automatic anti-spam system ban against the IP#.
Avoid sharing suspicious URL's. The system is a program, not content-interpreting person.

People outside of Florida often refer to Floridian men who go off-the-rails with rhetoric as "Florida man." You can thank the news and culture consuming the news for the existence of that common trope.
 
Hi,

First time I post on the forums, hoping someone could help me.

I have been auto-banned in the past (I did share several link, so I understand why, although they were links to pics, to people who requested pics, but if the system is automatic, that's understandable).

Now, yesterday, while I was just chatting (no links involved) I got kicked off the chat and I still can't login again (but I can post in the forum?) and I get 2 different errors, depending on how I try to login:
- If I try to login with my username, I get the "scammer" error;
- If I try to login as a Guest, I get a "that kind of words aren't welcome here" error (And I have NO IDEA what kind of words they're talking about).

I have appealed already, saying that I don't know what happened (probably someone used the Guest account, so I really don't know about that one, but also on my User, I did nothing...), but still can't login.
Any idea what could be the issue?

To be exact, the message is:
"These kinds of words are not welcome here (39c31ade)"

And now appears when I try to login with my user (I can't login as guest anymore).

Edit 2: I tried again (a min ago) to login as guest, and I could. I'll try later with my user.
Edit 3: I can't enter with my user, but can as a guest...
