I would agree because not everyone who goes to church is a nice person. I knew someone who met their husband at church and then ended up molesting his own daughter so again can't just assume stuff is what I tell people. You have your good people who do attend church but you have your weirdos and people who claim they are peaceful but really aren't. I like this quote I've seen before that says "Just because you go to church doesn't mean you're a christian. I can go sit in the garage all day and it doesn't make me a car." so with that you have to believe there is good and there is bad just how it is.

No, dude. You didn't start any drama, and I don't think you were defending child abuse in the Catholic Church. I was just sharing what I believed to be true in a public forum. I get that I'm abrasiveness and argumentative, but it's meant to be constructive - not destructive. I know there's a drama club meeting on this thread, but they follow me wherever I post.
I don't care what man says, what does the Bible say? What does Jesus say? I understand the Romans believe what they say, but they have been tainted since Constantine. They're not Christian, in my opinion. Jesus predicted them. The Catholic Church is a form of the anti-Christ, in my opinion, based on what I've read in the Bible and what I know of history. So anything they do, like having priests and nuns, believing they're literally consuming the flesh of their savior, confession, Vatican, pagan worship, etc. - they are not Christian (following the teachings of Christ, as told in the Holy Bible).

And hey do what you want. It's a free country. I've got nothing against Catholics, I simply disagree. I don't consider Mormons to be Christian either. I don't believe every Catholic is a bad person, just like I don't think every Muslim is a bad person - but Catholicism and Islam are very evil ideologies, in my opinion.
I haven't judged anyone. I'm judging an ideology - Roman Catholicism - and if your feelings are hurt because of it, that's your problem and not mine. If you feel personally attacked by my criticism of Roman Catholicism, then you are an ideologue. You can criticize something that I believe in and I won't cry about it. I'll defend it, with words and ideas, or decide not to waste my time. And for the record, I never attacked @SissyCultist He asked a public forum what they thought about Roman Catholicism and I replied.
I would strongly disagree. Ever go to church? It's mostly 80-year-old ladies praying and saying how much they love everyone, and being thankful for being alive.
I agree going to church doesn't make you a Christian.

But there are good people in bad churches, and there are bad people in good churches. Jesus said broad is the path, and narrow is the gate. Not everyone who says "Lord, Lord!" will reach the kingdom. That's why you have to judge people by their fruit, not what they say.
Do they have Christian grace? True Christians are very positive and loving, they want what's best for you, especially if you'd had a rough past. Even if you've found a great church with a loving community, there can be some psychopath hiding in plain sight. I wouldn't leave my kids around anyone I didn't trust with my life.

Most definitely. Perfectly sane people aren't interested in Christian existentialism. You're crazy, I'm crazy - the world's crazy and it always has been. We're hairless apes on a strange rock, spinning 1,000 MPH, covered in a thin layer of weird gas that protects us from the radiation of the universe, that is infinite and at the same time, so empty. It's easy to feel so meaningless, so... insignificant. But look how significant our strange rock looks, compared to the void.

But you. You've got it all figured out. Good luck on the online relationship, my dude. I know it's going to be hard to not read this sarcastically, but I mean this - I hope you find what you are looking for.
Yeah, some churches are like that - some people are like that. Their pastor wants their money, takes "tithes" (which are unbiblical), there's hierarchies and elitism - they treat others in the church like garbage. They try to compete, who's the best goody two-shoes, because they are prideful, not because they're a generally happy person who loves life, and wants to spread Christian grace and charity.

This church you speak of observes Christmas. I assume they congregate on Sunday, instead of the Biblical Saturday - the actual Sabbath. Personally, I would not go to a church like that. They're false, in my eyes. You have to understand that false Christians don't prove Christianity is bogus. This is cloudy thinking. "I saw a bad _____, therefor all ______s are bad". I propose to you:
    Individualism

A bad Christian doesn't prove they're all bad anymore than a good Christian proves they're all good. I can tell you of 3 men I've known in my life, who were kind-hearted and loved everyone. Good, honest hard-working Christian men who brought a lot of love and creation into this world. Not to sound pretentious, but I've volunteered at food pantries where they set the place up like a grocery store. It's free food for the poor and every single person there was a Christian, or one of the offshoots (Catholic, Mormon etc) and I didn't see a single atheist. Not one in a Rick and Morty shirt or a follower of Sam Harris, or Richard Dawkins.

It's also statistically true that Christians give more to charity, and they're reported to be happier, on average. Call some charities, they're almost all Christian. I understand the argument for atheism, but I think it falls apart once you reach existentialism. But most people don't get that far, they're comfortable with where they're at. Good for them, good for you. You need doubt to have faith, and I applaud you. I earnestly hope you find what you're looking for and I hope you live a happy life.

As far as 'The world is terrible, there's too much suffering for there to be a God. Why would he allow this?' Look to the Bible. What does God actually say? Does he promise you comfort? No. He tells you to reject the false comforts of the world, reject the wickedness and discipline yourself. The Bible teaches that Satan is "Lord of this World". He walks this Earth, whether you want to take that literally or metaphorically, and you are never promised a Utopia where everything's sunshine and rainbows. Life's a test and the one thing all religions agree upon is that "life is suffering". If life was perfect, there would be no point to life.

In the Aesthetic Mode of Existence, you believe you want to be comfortable - pleasure, self-serving gratification - but that is not the point of existence. If the world was perfect, and everyone was free to be in leisure and eat cake all day without getting fat - the first thing we'd do is smash something just to see what would happen. At least, that's what Fyodor Dostoevsky said, and I'm inclined to agree. There is suffering in the world. This is proof of evil - suffering for the sake of suffering, for enjoyment - and if there's evil, then cessation of evil must be good. I want that.

Most Pornstars are Ex Mormons, so I really need to attend one of their services.... Also a lot of Priests are pretty fucking Pervy and got away with alot of child molestation charges.... In a related note some freaky Pastor just groped Adriana Grande on Live TV.... Not sure if it's the Holy Water or the Jesus Juice that's making them lose their morality, but maybe they should consider dating more? Maybe watching porn to get their sexual release on, that way less innocent, trust worthy people are less likely to be assaulted / molested by these men of the cloth?

I await your comments, please bring donuts..... :D

I seen the pic of the groping pastor lol. He apologized today I think. I agree with you about the connection between religion and freakiness. I've always thought it had something to do with sexual repression. The pedos are just pedos though . They seem to get jobs were people trust them . Pastors , teachers , gymnastics doctors . Or it could just be the Jesus juice haha. But yeah maybe they do just need to bang more. On an unrelated note it seems most swingers are conservatives. Go figure lol. Oh btw donuts are on the table !

Well yeah they come in all shapes and sizes and forms of "Christianity" but the more and more these so called religious Jesus Freaks come into the light it seems you can just take off the Jesus part of that nickname and leave in the Freak, cause that's really what they are turning out to be. I'm sure there are some fine people of faith, but the more these leaders are put on the spotlight the more I see why people are turning away from such hypocrisy. On a related note, is there going to be some flavored Coffee to go with them donuts, cause I'm feeling a bit freaky tonite!:cool::D

Today the Archbishop of Washington was yelled at while asking that people pray for the Pope. It's been revealed when he was Bishop on Pittsburgh he reasigned and transferred pedo priests. And sometimes let them keep their duties. A guy yelled shame on you shame on you .
