Removing followers

They requested it should be a part of the software which it's obvious it should be if someone gets blocked they should not still be on the friends list

This is a public space. Being here is like being on a public street—people can look at you in public, but you can choose not to look at them back. Adjusting privacy options can help you manage who can interact with some of your content and activity.

Ok thanks for the info Stan,it’s just a shame as it’s frustrating to see them there. and as for the other guy he’s been a dick in several ways and only registered today so is now going on the aforementioned ignore list

This is just a suggestion and it might not be my place to make it, but perhaps there could be a policy that:
1) if you have a follower that you don't want to follow you, you request them to unfollow you.
2) if they don't unfollow you, that could be grounds for a ban.

However, that might be too much work for moderators. Still, simply asking them to unfollow you might get rid of a lot of them.

People ask followers to unfollow all the time. Sometimes they do it public and sometimes in private.

Follow activity will never be a bannable offense. That would be incredibly unfair.

I guess my thought is if someone asks you to leave them alone, you should respect that and failure to do so having consequences is not incredibly unfair, but I also see the argument that these are public forums and what you do in public can be watched by anyone.
