The color is gender-dependent. Grey is "other" or not specified.

Log out of chat, log out of forum. Log out it means use the log out function in both.
Clear cookies / website data.
Close the browser. Quit the browser, not just switch out of it.
If it's a mobile device, restart it to make cookies / cache go away (some mobile decides are silly like that, I don't know why).
