There were 40'000 gun deaths in America in 2017 . 14'000 were murders . Most gun crimes are committed with hand guns . And their is no way to track how many people are killed by illegal alien's. Most states do not keep track of a prisoner's legal right to be in the country. Those that do normally only do so by counting who had a detainer put on them by ICE. 2017 actually saw the highest gun death rate since the mid nineties. And it has continued to climb . 2018 saw 47'220 deaths by gun in the U.S . 11,984 were murders . So far this year as of today there have been 15'209 gun related incidents with 4'073 resulting in death and 7'359 injuries.
