The hymen break. No, the hymen is a ring of stretchy tissue. Like all membranes, they can break down over time. Tearing would be a better way to put it. The hymen does not cover the entire vagina and break or tear during the first time a girl has sex because if that was the case a woman could not menstruate. All bleeding will come from the vaginal wall and not the hymen. If a woman gets pounded and is not used to it, she will bleed. It has nothing to do with size, shape, or even technique. #sorrynotsorry
