Wrapping up the 2018 Summer

Wow is all i can say, what a great summer we had here at freechatnow. As I write this blog and check the rooms, we have 2637 online chatters, a new maximum for our rooms. Our website has been consistently breaking records month after month since June. Our website traffic has reached new heights and now well after the summer, almost half way through September and we're still breaking chat room concurrent user records.

The chat rooms consistently have around 2000 users in them, around the clock. There is activity all around the clock, free chat available to all whenever and wherever.

We've not been adding much in terms of new features to the site throughout the summer, we've been occupied keeping everything running, making the necessary arrangements to manage and maintain the additional traffic, adding moderators, upgrading the network and hardware to keep the chat rooms online for you. This is going to change in the upcoming months.

Version 2 of the chat software we use it well underway. We're anticipating at least another 8 months to a year until it can be fully released, but it's going to be light years ahead of our existing free chat rooms and any other chat service on the web. Video and audio chat will be fixed and a lot more efficient, it will look a lot prettier and run a lot more efficiently for mobile chat.

Stay tuned to the forums, especially the announcements section as we're going to be announcing some potential changes that could shake things up quite a bit. We do all of this for you and we want your feedback before we make such changes, so keep checking the forums and have your say.

I want to say a big thank you to all of the Moderators who do this on a voluntary basis, day in and day out making the chat rooms safer and a more enjoyable experience for all of us. Thank you also to millions of users that use our free chat service every month, we know you have a choice when it comes to live chat, but luckily for you and us, you've made the right one :)
