Realized never showed my collections on here or talk about it much. But I am a huge collector. I mostly collect figures, sailor moon wands/compacts, plushies, vintages toys, dolls, bird things etc... this thread doesn't really have to be nerd collections you can show anything you collect but I would like to see more nerd stuff on here.

Whoa I used to be crazy into improving my handwriting when I was younger now it's like eh lol. I have pencil bags full of kawaii pens and pencils full of 0.5 led because it's thin and everything looked neat and pretty. Those look like like they write so smooth!

I forgot to quote you, but Smurf sitting in middle looks super funny. Some of your figurines are really well detailed, Felicia Darkstalker one is really beautiful. You have collected and kept them well.

I am a left-hander and when I was a kid someone told me Fountain Pens would help in improving my handwriting. The end result is my writing is worse than doctors but I got a cool collection of pens. And I understand the pencil penchant I love stationery as well.

I enjoy the 2mm pencils more than the .5 thin ones. I do not know if you have seen the Caran D'Ache mechanical pencil, they look beautiful.

The Smurf is probably the best thing I own... I got it directly from Russia. It's actually some porcelain or something. Not plastic. Very heavy. It's a great comnversation starter.

That Felicia looks really good because she was released like last year. She is really detailed and gorgeous. I love dark stalkers and collect them. Lots of my figures are like 90s figures and don't look nearly as nice. That Hsien-ko was also released nearly the same year (or the year before?) and she looked fantastic too. Figures have come a long way. My standards have been raised tbh, because these new figures and wands look amazing and the 90s toys look awful tbh. I still love them but you cannot compete with hand painted, highly detailed amazingly crafted merchandise.

I got into the stationary stuff because of the kawaii hello kitty stuff... that's also stuff I collect that isn't featured here. They typically only make stuff in 0.5 as that's the standard for the cute merchandise. As long as you like the pens and get use out of them it's cool even if your hand writing sucks.

The sailor moon wands in the first picture are called proplicas and they are extremely detailed replicas of the actual weapons from the show down to the actual proportions in the show. They are hand painted, play all the sounds, include the attack voice clips from the voice actresses and they light up and everything. They are absolutely amazing compared to these 90s ones on the bottom of my desk. While its nostalgia for me they are junk tbh. I like vintage stuff but they can't hold a candle to the new released merch that's really nice. I was really surprised with these dark stalkers new figures they are epic. I didn't have any new figures till these. All my figures are old except for these because I mostly only like old animes and old games and such. I do wanna stay away from gashapon figures as they actually test my patience putting them together is such a nightmare lol. All the dark stalker figures are all gashapons.

To be honest, I do not know much about wands, but I can say they have been made well and you are right quite detailed.

Nah Nah, not junk but I really am feeling this must have taken effort, money, patience over a long period of time. As I said modern merch is just getting dynamic and 3d printed, some merch looks better than anime. That itself says a lot.

And thank you for sharing more images, there are gems hidden in the back as well. I used to do a lot of Meccano stuff, so I know the fun of putting things together. I donated all of those couple of years ago. And the fun and effort are all worth in the end.

I got more pens, I will get them later. I also got more than the required Zippos. Over the years 3 are missing, 1 was taken away on a Flight , 1 a friend never returned, 1 I lost.

Whoa those are neat too! It almost makes me miss smoking. I never actually got into model building gashapons are a little different. Not sure I have the skill to get into model building. I have a friend who is really into gundam building. I wish I had that type of skill and time.

Trust me the comparison are of the wands are easy to tell apart from the 90s version and the new versions. The 90s version is on the left and the new is on the right.

I got the 90s version of this wand that's damaged so it's a little beat up. The scale is wrong, the right is the right size scale. The left looks really cheap. The paint and materials look cheaper too. However, it's part of nostalgia for me to have this in my collection even though the right one looks better and functions better. I've been trying to collect as many of the 90s wands as I can, however people want ridiculous prices for them due to the rarity of them and most times they won't even come in the original box. So it's better off getting the new proplicas instead it's a better investment and they look better.

Zippos too get kind of costly. Newer ones or even older limited-edition ones might make think of selling one of my kidneys.

The difference between the wands is substantial. I guess the same applies to model building. The older products just felt a bit raw and unfinished. Newer ones are more polished and better moulded. There is a giant quality difference between old Meccano and newer ones. However, older ones were heavier and sturdier.

Between the two wands, I cannot make out the difference in the quality of the plastic, however, the golden bits around the star, the crown in the centre itself is telling how things have changed. The left one does look retro pretty old school. It has its own charm.

I think it is wise to get happiness out of collecting newer ones and feeling somewhat satisfied with them.

I too shall put in more pens later.

Zippos actually can be classified as collectibles so this is not surprising. They are works of art and have value and people really like them.

As for the models yeah agree, some of my gashapons have trouble standing up or are bent all weird due to standing up for so long. It's odd. I didn't spend so much on some of them though so I fixed some of them. I think some of the older models have problems like this.

The older wand was damaged, I got it damaged. The gold bits are a little damaged. I don't have problems getting damaged items if it's mostly in good condition or it's missing some items. I've restored some figures and items. It's not often I'll take on projects like that, but if I can get one of my grail items for a good price but it's damaged I'll fix it up. Both wands are made by bandai so you can see how far they have come.

Yeah, even both are Bandai and still so much has changed. I too think “good condition” is fine, I do not want “mint” to get thrilled. Restoration though is not an easy task.

I do not know if you have tried Rakuten as a site. They used to have worldwide shipping.

You should get them dated/catalogued they look quite old. The Arrowhead or tools with dates/era could become some really cool pieces.

I used to collect coins from countries then gave up, now curse myself for not collection at least 1 piece of currency. The colours, patterns, design, all feels super charming.

I used to actively hunt stamps. It was a tough hobby. Slowly it became very difficult to figure out real vs fake, I ended up giving up. I still have most of my old collection.
