Rights and Freedoms Is nationalism bad?

I think every political ideologi has both bad and good effects. The nationalism helpd us to form new independent nations like the USA or some east/ceantral european nation. But I think in this case the biger is better, for example the Austro-Hungarian monarchy could provide a better conditions to their citizens than the successor states now. And the nationalism caused lost of cultular and political division, wath is lead us to international conflicts.
So its a very comp

The expansion of the USA wasn't really nationalism. The native Americans were here first. The expansion of the USA was genocide . Murdering people , taking their land and forcing them to live on reservations isn't a good thing.

Yes, I know you missunderstand me. The expansion of the colonies and later the USA is the consequence of the colonialaism, but the foundation of the indepandent USA was the consicvens of the ideas like the nationalism (I'm not an Englis man I'm not fom Engalnd I'm an american and I'm form america(or from a specific colonie)) and democracy ("No taxation without representation")

Yes but it still involved the taking from others. Yes they said ' I'm am American not an Englishman' but to get to that point others had to suffer. It's not the same as a people who have lived in a certain place and have hundreds or thousands of years of cultural identify tied to that place . It was people who came from someplace else. Said this is now my land , even though there where already people there. Then decided to break from the country that sent them there to begin with. I get what you are saying. But don't think it's nationalism as much as the continued taking from others. It wasn't their land. They had no right to claim it . So I don't feel nationalism is the right term for it . Although I'm sure they felt that way.

I didnt said that the nationalis is a term for it i said that the colonailasm is aterm for it.
I said the ntionalim is connected to the war of independence and not to the conquest of the natives lands

I agree with you
I'm prety sure you missunderstand me...
No you don't understand. The very arrival of the first colonists started the taking from native people. In the beginning they got along with most native groups for the most part. Although there was some violence. But over time the relationships started to go bad . At those different points in the 13 colonies the taking of land began. Whether it was fencing off plots of forest and telling natives you can no longer hunt here or outright killing them. They took what wasn't theirs. In a land they were not from. So you can't claim nationalism from war and conflict in a place that you only have less than 200 years of history. Although as I said I'm sure they saw it that way.

You dont understand what i wana say

If nationalism was the primary motivation for men to join the Continental Army it would not have been necessary for land and cash bounties to be offered. In fact most men that had farms didn't want to serve for fear of losing their farms . Colonies started to conscript men and most who volunteered were poor and hoping for money for land and a better position in society of they survived.

I said it was a reason not the only one or the main one

Just throwing this out there. There were some settlements here that leased and then later purchased land from the native Americans and lived together fine. Even started their own countries with their own laws. This time in history can't be compared to now. All we can really do is try and do better. I am also saying this full well knowing that you will disagree and argue like you always do. Lol
You are still an idiot.

“‘My country, right or wrong,’ is a thing that no patriot would think of saying except in a desperate case. It is like saying, ‘My mother, drunk or sober.’”
G K Chesterton
Where did I say "right or wrong?" I think you have your quotes wrong.
