Thoughts Neighborhood Q&A

Sorry to blow in but @Oldgymrat ... can you do me? OY ... not do me!! But what cullinary wonders would you construct as an ode to Pheonixxx? Please :D
Hmm... needs to be creative... imaginative.. fun.. not to stodgy....so a cavalcade of small plates... letting the evening play out... bring a date... cause my girl will be there too

Start with raw oysters in a minionette ( changed the spelling for you) with little yellow baked merangue flavoed with lemon zest.

Breast of duck. Chambourd jelly. Spinach tart ( cause your a little tarte lol )

Smoked tomato marmalade. Roasted onion. Sour dough croustade. Creamy gorgonzola... a light dance across the palette with a sharp slap of cheese for being frisky.

Grilled prawns. Vegetable kabobs and Quince chutney.. alittle Indo / Aussie fusion because of your unexpected nature

A petite fillet mignon. Truffle demi glace.. for gras and braised cauliflower... cause fun girls like to get the meat on a date

An assortment of chocolate truffles. Fresh strawberries. Clotted sweetened cream.
Because sometimes your rich like chocolate... fun and fruity like strawberries and always smooth and sweet like the cream....

What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

Honestly I'd leave my current role and retrain in a new area, I'm unsure at present of what that would be but I have a few ideas and alongside that focus more on my writing. But due to very complex reasons that's probably unobtainable for some time, but if I could walk away right now with a guaranteed positive outcome I would.

@FireflyEyes Do you know anyone who hates shopping?
I know plenty of people who hate shopping. Although, I think it is not that they hate shopping in general, but particular bits of shopping.

My mum used to hate grocery shopping. She refused to do it when we were kids. I think it a big part of that might have been that she couldn't buy the things she wanted, because we were kids and needed kid food...which is boring, large in volume and always the same...

I hate shopping for clothes because it is so much work, and difficult to find clothing that fits. And because I find it difficult to concentrate when there is music on and most clothing shops play music, which for me makes the job of finding clothes that much more difficult.

I have minimalist or environmentalists friends who worry about waste, attachment, human rights violations, environmental violation that go into producing most things sold in shops. They tend to be very anxious about shopping, and I think most people hate feeling anxious.

I love this answer, detailed answers to such simple questions is what makes this thread a rousing success so thank you for yours, I have plenty more to come:)

@Oldgymrat How well do you think you would handle prison?

@PheonixxxMonroe If you were given one million dollars to open a small museum, what kind of museum would you create?

@Calazviel What’s the most delightful hotel or house you’ve stayed in on vacation?

@PalePetiteKelsie What weird quirks did you pick up from your parents?

@LilithX What’s the most awkward social situation you’ve been in?

I think it would have to be a fascinating creatures of the ocean museum with a focus on educating especially small but also bigger humans on how to reduce their impact on beaches, oceans, reefs and all their wondrous living inhabitants and how they can help more.

So much I could say...

Firstly thank you so very much for not making it dull.

Yay, double date haha - don't worry @Mixedgirl I'm NOT hitting on him, I'm just a tragic foodie and am more than happy to bring someone along :)

But I have a confession. I don't like oysters (I've tried them in many ways and it's always a fail but I do appreciate the sentiment and I'm not sure if you went there on purpose for the aphrodisiac properties ... but I'm already fine in the libido department hehe!) so more for you guys but the rest of it sounds really fun and delectable!

I don't know about the tarte bit cause I know I'm not a "tart" but I'm not complaining because I legit could NEVER say no to eating ANY kind of tarte - the non human kind that is.

Would it be weird to suggest eating my yummy, zesty yellow meringues along with muscles cause I DO eat those!

Oooh, I LOVE duck! And that tomato Moulin rouge number is speaking to me. Tick to the prawns and veg kabobs - yum! you could even put roo meat on there and I'd love that with the quince chutney. Love what you did with the unexpected fusion collab!! Fillet mignon and accompaniments sound perfect ...

ok so its a double date but can you manage eat AND cook at the same time? Hope so!

Dessert JUST YES but I would have said that about ALMOST anything sweet except for maybe tiramisu or trifle tbh :D

Thanks a million Gymsy @Oldgymrat you culinary legend! MUCH appreciated! :p

Damn I kind of have a thing for nice hotels, when I was a lot younger amongst the many silly lists I used to compile was a list of hotels/hotel suites I'd like to stay in. So I'm probably going to give a few:

1. Best Room/Suite in a city hotel - The Robinson Suite @ Quebec's Hotel in Leeds (also had a great small bar with the nicest bar tender ever and he made great cocktails)
2. Best Small/Boutique hotel - Libertine Lindenberg in Frankfurt
3. Best Resort - Outrigger Mauritius
4. Best large hotel - Taj Land's End, Mumbai

Shout out to the ABode Hotel in Manchester where the waitress at the hotel bar was drop dead gorgeous.

Pretty much all social situations I’m involved in are awkward.

@PheonixxxMonroe - What are some physical and non-physical traits you are drawn to in a partner?

PHYSICAL: Inviting eyes, Broad shoulders, capable hands, taller than me (I can't explain why ... maybe i like to kiss Upwards & it makes me feel safe)

NON PHYSICAL: Wit, similar sense of humour/makes me laugh, intelligence, cheekiness, animal wild side.

:)
