I feel like this is a subject that doesn't get discussed as often as it should but the art of Gaming soundtracks, in my opinion should not be ignored. A great soundtrack can be a huge contributing factor in the over all quality of the experience of playing a game and can sometimes even be the only thing worth while in an otherwise crappy gaming experience.

Some examples from me personally are:
Almost any Legend of Zelda or just about anything Koji Kondo has ever worked on
Dark Souls or any Souls-like
Doom. Just about any Doom game, classic or modern
Streets of Rage, I prefer the first one but the second one's got some good tunes too
Banjo Kazooie or just about anything Grant Kirkhope has worked on
Literally the entire Donkey Kong Country series. Seriously, how's a game about literal monkey business have some of the best music in games?

And I can go on and on and on!

Fun fact, I will not play a game if the soundtrack is bad. If i'm going to donate time into playing games the music better be good. I agree with your posts about Koji Kondo and Donkey Kong two of my favorite series ever. Here's some selections I really like.

Legend of dragoon (which is a super underrated game) the soundtrack is phenomenal

And Stewart Copeland who did the spyro game soundtracks which are all amazing tbh

This one is an indie game but I wanted to mention it anyway because it's so good, Toby fox who made the game undertale and also composed all the music

Probably the most beautiful music that was ever composed for a game (in my opinion) was for a game called Legend of Mana, still one of my absolute favorites

And finally, probably this goes without mentioning the cuphead soundtrack. All composed by Kristopher Maddigan all played by a live band. It's fabulous.

Ooohh Someone who likes Legend of the Dragoon! I watched my big Sis play this as a kid. Made me cry at a certain event at the end of CD1.

As for Soundtracks I recommend everyone a fairly recent game. Final Fantasy 15. That Soundtrack has only good tracks and can be heard from top to bottom with no regrets. <3

We don't ever speak of the end of CD1 because it was absolutely bullshit. I wish they would remake the game and give it a wider audience (I wish they would do it with a lot of PS1 games since the graphics were just so terrible for PS1) this game is just so underrated and nobody really knows about it. It's a shame it never really got the attention it deserved.

But we are here to keep the tale alive! I would love a Remake of it so much. Rose in a modern look would be great. You know what.. I think I'll boot up the old emulator and have a go at it again. :D

Yes! That's what i've been doing it's been nice to go back and remember everything. They are remaking the wrong games they really should go back and remake some of these old PS1 RPGs if they are going to insist on remaking some old games.

I will say a great soundtrack can make even a bad game at least that much better. As a Sonic fan I know this first hand lol! All of these are fantastic, Undertale is definitely amazing with it's soundtrack. Have you played Deltarune yet? Even though it's a demo it's still a very full feeling experience and the soundtrack is just as good if not even better!
And yes, Cuphead is just an amazing game in general! I haven't played Legend of Mana but I know Square always kills it with the soundtracks, one of my all time favorites is Chrono Trigger, every song on there is fantastic! Spyro is always fantastic too,

Honestly I haven't played deltarune I watched some let's players play it to see if it was something I wanted to play and it didn't really hook me like the first one did. Maybe ill try it anyway since it's free to play (or it was anyway IDK) I love everything about Cuphead the aesthetic about it is so amazing. I still play it (even though it makes me mad and is very difficult) the music is so good. Legend of Mana is such an underrated game everything about it is beautiful the music and the art is wonderful. It's too bad people tend to cling to secret of mana over legend of mana and haven't ever heard of it. It was just as good of a sequel. Chrono trigger was also a good one too!

I can listen to Atelier Escha and Logy vocal soundtrack over and over.

I just thought of some I'd like to share. Just some songs I've thought about that maybe ya'll haven't thought about or heard in a while or just some less obvious picks:

Zombies Ate My Neighbors - Snes

DKC 2 - How even did they make this sound like this in the Snes?!

Dark Souls - Sad Pupper :(

Scott Pilgram VS. The world - This song in particular makes me wanna start a random brawl lol

Devil's Crush - Turbo Grafx 16 - This is for a pinball game!

That's all for now, I'll be back with more when I think of them!

The Nier series has music that makes me feel emotions on a super strong level, the lyrics from the music is actually a made up language called Chaos Language, which honestly gives the game a deeper meaning since the game is set in a post apocalyptic setting.

Excellent choices! Especially great DKC2 song one of my favorites.

I'm adding some more:

This one from a super underrated Jrpg called Rhapsody a musical adventure

And one from one of my all-time favorites games for PS1 Medieval

And this one from tekken 2

The soundtrack to Eternal darkness was really underrated and had some good songs on it. This game was also very underrated
