Fix the mature room

It was the first time I put up a thread I guess I posted in the wrong no thank you

There have always been individuals seeking sexual fun in the mature room and the chatters who just want friendly banter tend to turn a blind eye. The regs in mature chat room used to be in adult room which was very much ‘live and let live’. So I think while some are put off by the sexual element, I hear that many have been driven away by unwanted drama and of course Covid hasn’t helped either.

#MatureChat was created to facilitate older folks who want a slower pace and less users. #AdultChat regularly sees over 1,200 users at any given time when it's busy, while #MatureChat sees well under 200 at any given time.

Things are working as requested and designed—people are getting a slower pace without most of the "unwanted" content, but with a sense of a community and only 10th of the traffic.

I don't even understand what the complaints are about.

I think the issue is that many of the old favourites have gone away but that could be due to many reasons.

I would be very pleased to join you Curvy , may be find a quite room ?? Take care , stay safe Al.

I have a feeling the sub line isn't quite suggestive enough..."silver surfer" might still attracted...well you know...

But a couple things...
1. Block buttons are really effective. By hiding content from users you find inappropriate, it is easier to just enjoy your part of the space.
2. Ignoring inappropriate people is soooooo much more powerful than telling them to "bugger off". All attention is positive attention (even attention that was intended to be negative)
3. Discussing openly about "how nice it is to talk about gardening" also helps people take a hint.

I'm finding rooms go through phases...don't worry...it will get good again :) Be part of the positive change. :D

Also...perhaps a "break room" for people who want to get away from all the adult stuff... might be a thing (rather than a tacobar or rainbow lounge)
there has been a couple of relaxed rooms that stan has made then he deletes them and calls you a crack head for asking why it was deleted. if there is no drama the room goes away

You need to get someone to interpret reality for you. Or, if you're smoking crack, quitting it might help.

Yeah it really sucks when all the good people are starting to leave because of a Chosen Few turn to turn it into something that it's not well said red

"@Vmax1200 is correct, the rabble rousers will always hold sway... only because they are not collectively shunned by the majority; Being categorically ignored, they'd slink off to find other prey to feed upon for the emotional sustenance their twisted selves require. As I did not join the august patrons of the Mature room until after 2000, i cannot venture to add what it was like prior to my arrival, but, @Tinmanz is correct, a place to just chat and unwind without the more titillating aspects offered in other rooms is most welcome. even at it most tame, there is plenty of bawdy bandied about. "

if it's not broken, don't fix it. but if it needs fixing, sometimes one must amputate a limb, to save the body. hence why there are peg legs, hooks, and eyepatches, followed by if the whole world subscribed to an eye for an eye, we'd all be blind.
