Marcus Joseph is an associate pastor and his last congregation was a prominently black church in Memphis but now he was taking over a new church out in the country side of Western Tennessee. Unlike the church in Memphis, this one was rural and white and very much more conservative. It seemed odd for Marcus to be in this new town as the pastor it seemed he was maybe the only black person in town but that didn't bother him, he was there to spread the gospel.
The church held a welcoming dinner for their new pastor and some taken back expecting the more conservative white pastor they were used to, but that was not to say they were racist or anything, he could speak to anyone really and deliver a great message. It was the women's club there that put on a dinner as he arrived to greet them early as they worked in the church kitchen.
He is a tall and athletic man, to say he stood out was an understatement. He stood all of 6 foot and 5 inches tall and his build was about 250 lbs and very muscular athletic, his brown eyes can mesmerize those looking into them and he had a medium length black afro for hair. He dressed very nice always in a suit sometimes a 3 piece suit, today he is in a dark navy blue suit with a light shade blue dress shirt and a dark blue tie with little white diamond shaped patter long the tie, dark blue slacks and his size 16 black leather laced and well polished dress shoes. He believed in looking good and eating well and working out of course.
The women in the church kitchen varied in age from their 20's to their 50's, Rodney himself was 40 but he looked 30 with how well he took care of himself and there was one more thing about him, the lack of a wedding band on his left ring finger, he was very much available.
