New chat is awful
Okay, a positive after all the negatives..
The new chat is growing on me as I get used to it. Maybe losing the old chat wasn't the tragedy I thought it would be.
Setting the options is a pain, but I'm getting faster at it as I remember what to set and how to set it.
The other down side is, there are a whole new bunch of chatters to educate what I do and don't like.
I guess in time, that will level out to 'old chat levels' too.
Give me a month, I'll probably have forgotten the old chat.
Final evaluation, it' s growing on me.

As humans it's very difficult to accept the change...
Accept it and move on
The new chat is still improving and will continue to improve with all the feedback people are providing. The least you can do is to give your feedback so if it's feasible you might be able to get all the features you think that this chat is missing.

Retired means it's still alive.
It just sleeps in late, gets up to take its meds, and does whatever it wants all day long.

New chat is laggy af compared to the old one.
Friends didn't carry over from the old to the new, which is an annoyance to say the least

Bro to be honest with you, I think like half the people on FCN are on their phones. By FCN making phone accessibility harder (can’t do portrait mode, software glitches, etc) you’ve alienated all of those people. That’s one of the many reasons new chat sucks ass.

Well, lame is whinging about something that has happened.
The old chat is gone. Get over it.
Thus the options become just three.
1. Move to the new chat
2. Move on.
3. Invest your money, pay for server time, buy the chat software you prefer, arrange for advertisers (if you want to keep it free) or pay more money for secure servers and organise a periodical payment system to charge your chatters a monthly fee to chat then open your own chat site and run it exactly as you wish.
Administration has stated more than a dozen times, if you have a genuine grievance, list it in detail and where possible, they will listen to the people who use the chat and do what they can to fix/add/implement changes within the limits of the programming software.
I'm no programmer but I can in all confidence state that there will not be single line of code they can add or remove that will 'un-lame' anything.

Boot licking at its finest
I've tried the new chat. Yeah it's different. Too many guests and not enough real people. It's harder to understand and lacks the soul of the original. But it's new, something us old farts need to come to terms with. So in that spirit, I'll continue to give it a go.

You may not have noticed but everyone agrees with the comment about your boot licking. Notice how the new chats numbers havent gone up? People are moving to better platforms.
You can pretend all you want that the new chat is better, nobody want it and it unusable to many people.
