At around or before 0600 GMT, chat experienced a technical issue and many users weren't able to log in using their register profiles.
Ability to log in as a Guest wasn't affected, to our knowledge.

The problem may still persist and it's being looked into.

There are several solutions or workarounds and certain ones work for some users, while other methods work for other users.

One solution:

A temporary resolution may be to continuously press the "Log in" button after receiving the initial "Unable to authenticate" message, and you may find that after several attempts, you gain access to chat.

I logged out of the forum, logged in as a guest, logged out again, signed in on my account and it worked

Last resort:
Clear web browser cookies/data for freechatnow.com, close browser, open browser, log back into forum and try to log into chat.

If none of those options work for you, simply log in as a Guest.
Uncheck "I have an account" when logging in and full Guest login form will reveal itself.
Note: Guest logins are not registered usernames and anybody can use any Guest login they desire. Guest logins are are always prefixed with "G-"

i had no difficulties logging in under my registered name until today.......tried hitting the log in multiple times and logged in as a guest and then logged out and retried......nothing seems to work

Is this now fully blown issues as I can't see any mods in any chatrooms, this issue seems like it could lead to possible legal issues?

Yeah, I’m already seeing stuff in the chat rooms that should’ve been taken down by mods, but simply aren’t bc none are in there.

Yeah probably. That might make it easier to fix the issue too with no one else online. Thankfully I haven’t seen anything too bad yet though.

Makes sense I guess? Or at least a poor connection to whatever software they use to authenticate users, assuming the error message is actually related to the problem lol
