Yes. Yes it was. I just went and read about it. The inspiration for the look of that doll was Pugs. Also meant to be scary because one of the other main characters was a Donkey who was scared of those things as they were living outside but then later on found out He was nice. "Teach to accept diversity". I was 7 when it began and I'm 99% sure that THING came into my nightmares. Maybe still does.
