I hadn't heard that, just found the interview. Some unfortunate stuff and definitely disappointing, but ultimately he's still a believer in everyone being able to explore their gender expression without pressure or labels, but he's been conned into the lies about fake trans people using it as a defence for being bathroom predators. I hope someone can educate him properly, he's always been very socially progressive for a 77 year old son of an Evangelist.
Totally get that it's a deal breaker for you though. American conservatives make me angry, so I'm going to stop writing now.
