Ai is just software sitting on storage media. Literally everything that Ai runs on needs to be maintained and paid for. Think: MASSIVE datacenters (huge buildings) full of servers and GPU's with city's worth of electricity and cooling required. Ai can't crawl out of anything and start maintaining itself to take over anything.
