A month yeah. They collect general waste one week the recycling and compost the next week and repeat
It's good and bad. Competition can make prices go down but then on the other hand like with gas and electricity it keeps going up with no government oversight
I find it bizarre here in UK how much difference is in Council Tax from Borough to Borough .
I moved about 10-15 mins walk from one place to another, and the difference annually was about £1,200 between them.

It seems rather arbitrary how they calculate it

Ya, I looked into it and the primary calculation seems to be on what said property was worth, I can’t recall the year , but 50 years ago or something. And also in London Boroughs, I looked and weirdly most of the ones with the lowest rates are the most expensive in terms of property prices.
Anyway will pipe down now, but just found it weird/illogical.
You can always count on the rich getting richer, the poor getting poorer and the middle class being squeezed for every penny
