Group Banter Race to a million

I enjoy a nice pub.

Sometimes prices can be iffy. Also I've usually used a social club with cheaper prices. Going from what £2.50 to £3.80 was steep back in the day.

Now it's going from £3.20 to £5 or more. Think the last sin tax raised it to £5.20 at the new place I drink after work.

Once youre not getting change from a fiver its gone too far
Every budget raises the price, since it's one of the things you can always raise the price on and no on will mind or defend.

Same with tobacco.

Raise it say 2%. Do that every year or two. And eventually it gets high enough to make people say screw it I'll buy from a super market instead and get wankered for £20 rather than say six or seven pints costing you +£30.

Its an easy target hard to argue that tobacco and drink should be more accessible

Yeah British alcohol and tobacco prices are the highest in all of Europe I think.

It's why anyone going abroad for a holiday or whatever are asked to bring cigarettes or pouches of tobacco back since I think when I went to Greece it was less than half the price it is in England.
