WDYL
Give to charity or even a homeless panhandler.

If I can answer Saximony's question (as I'm not sure that Holla Dazzle asked a question?) the answer would be over three years ago.

I am not against helping people, but I am quite anti-charity. Sounds like a misnomer? Well, I used to volunteer to help out a well known UK cancer charity after several bouts with the illness, and I saw first hand how some of the funds raised did not always reach the people it should have.

I was quite 'green' about charities until I found out that some of the top executives at leading charities were being paid more than the Prime Minister of the UK!

Until my retirement, I investigated charities for fraud and you would be amazed at how many charities are little more than scam rackets. My most recent investigation was into a concert for cancer where funds had been misappropriated to the tune of £60,000 over six years.

You only have to look at the latest OXFAM scandal to see that the most charitable and virtuous are anything but.

Although it is not up to me to dictate to people how and where to put their money towards charitable interests, I would always urge caution and if your gut tells you not to give then don't feel bad by not giving.

This is what I think of these so-called 'charitable' people:

Okay, WDYL go skydiving?

Never

WDYL make a major life change?

After my illness with cancer, I cut right back on anything sweet/fatty though I do still enjoy a salty caramel latte from Costa.

I also had a chronslike illness, but I managed to lose a lot of weight simply by walking and doing abs crunches.

Hopefully, it will do me good in the long run and I hope to avoid the hereditary arthritis my family has had. If not, I'll just use cannabis oil ;)

Not as recently as I should have.

When did you last cry?

I last cried probably when I was 14, having lost my best mate to suicide.

Didn't even cry when I lost my parents as I wasn't that close to them - my Mum's passing was sudden, after being diagnosed with bowel cancer, but I kind of expected it as it was Stage 4. My Dad had Alzheimer's and was just an arrogant anus who would not listen to advice nor help himself, so in the end when he died I thought 'what a relief!'

WDYL do a major DIY job?

Would have been earlier today when I chastised an impudent yob.

WDYL see a live football/soccer match (at any level)

Last year, went to stay with an old schoolmate in Hanoi.

Hanoi is well worth a visit, very much an eye-opener.
