I think slow cooking is more suited for tough meats. I'd just sear the meatballs and finish them in the sauce for 25-30 minutes.

Maybe but the sauce had to simmer. I just as I the sausage and meat balls during that process. Idk there could be a better way but this is how I've done it forever (inn my years lol) and It has worked
