So here's my attempt at shedding insight. Chat is a bit of a free for all, so you'll probably see all kinds of things you want nothing to do with. I just consider that to be noise. Chat is also full of men and a number of the women are actually men pretending to be women. However, I've met some amazing people in chat. I look for someone who seems interesting or gives me a positive gut feeling and then ask if she wants to chat. Sometimes she'll be interested. Then I try to communicate clearly about what the she and I are seeking and sometimes we have common interests. Good luck!
