In literally every other aspect of life, if you wind up inside another living thing, and loose fluids in the process, you're on the bottom of that equation, I.e. predators eating prey.

So why is it that in sex the act of penetrating someone else is viewed as dominant?

I mean, come on, the penis is getting "consumed" by the recipient, he's losing vital fluids in the process, the recipient either gets to create new life entirely from the act, or at the very least has gained some small amount of nutrients (depending on how it plays out ;))

We don't watch a gazelle getting eaten by a lion and go "fuck yeah, gazelle, throat fuck that pussy"

Spontanously I thought of marking as a counter example. Like when animals mark their territory?
Also, you mentionned 2 aspects, loosing fluids and the penetration itself. Penetration itself has a dominant connotation to me for sure. I'm not really sure what point you want to make?

That’s my point though, in every other aspect of life winding up inside something else is a loss.
 
And before anybody gets their briefs in a twist, this isn’t meant as a dig at anyone, just a funny thought I had about sexual politics

Eh. Your thought process is faulty. Those are 2 different things. Food consumption vs. Sex / procreation. Your argument does not stand. It is like arguing why don't bananas taste like plantains, well, they are the same shape anyway. Not the same fruit. Not the same act.

For me, like @Sloppy_Seconds said, sex penetration is a dominant act, by virtue of it being penetrative. The man is the giver, the woman the acceptor. The man, the one who fills up woman, the glass not filled, so to speak. But then, it is all in one's mind, which is why there is the sexual diversity that exists.
