What could, and should, be seen as an odd choice. I personally love the song but it's been murdered over the years.

so many, many songs.... I'll skip ones used at sporting events or wedding receptions. When it came out Bohemian Rhapsody was always on one station or another, likewise Freebird never dies (maybe just in the US tho). Hotel California is probably the most overplayed of all time. So, no reason to post those. Peter Frampton's Comes Alive album produced three songs that simultaneously got overplayed. One was my old gf in college's fav (so it still gives me bad reactions) is, even though it is seldom heard now:


A song that is famous in UK/Europe but hardly known in the USA/Canada

(This song is the opening of the anime called Ranger Reject or Go! Go! Loser Ranger in English is the most underrated anime I ever seen.)
 
Reminds me of my childhood (seems anime is quite old) - gotta admit I wasn't really a fan but, close to your request as I can get. I had a younger neighbor that was really into it.
