There's a little story behind this one....
Amen Brother - The Winstons
This was a B-side in 1969 to "Colour him Father" which was fairly successful but the B-side was massively overlooked and forgotten about. At around 1:26 there's a 7 second long drum break that was improvised by the drummer, Gregory Coleman, just to pad the song out a bit that despite barely being acknowledged when released, was randomly discovered some time in the 80's and sampled for, I think, a Salt n pepa song which kicked it all off.
The "amen break" is now the most sampled drum break in history. It's a huge huge part of jungle, drum &, bass, hip-hop and a load of other musical genres. Most EDM literally just wouldn't sound the way it does now if it wasn't for that break.
The Winstons eventually split up and Gregory Coleman died homeless and unaware of what a huge impact he would have on music today.
I actually quite like the song tbh but I felt it fit the request lol.
A song that you've heard recently and had forgotten what an absolute banger it is.
