You have taste if you think beans are ok....a pickled egg is something you can get in the UK usually in a local fish and chip shop...as the description says its a hard boiled egg in a type of clearish pickled liquid.....my wife Spankums hates them and I just wondered if you'd ever heard of them where you are and sampled them. You love them or usually hate them. Thank you for your answer. ️xx.

Hell yeah it is. It's a staple diet of the northern English person. Here it is in all its glory

And if you want to prove how northern you really are you can go one step further and go for the good old school modification of the same meal by adding cheese. Chips, cheese and gravy. I'm getting wet thinking about it.

Is that just brown gravy or curry? I've had curry fries at an Irish themed bar I go to sometimes. But of course you live in Northern England not Ireland and there is no way of knowing what's authentic here

Both are gravy.
Curry you usually have with chips is more off yellow colour.
