I grew up on reading maps for travel and directions. #forgottenskill
I'm actually confused when people ask that. It's literally the same thing as on a device with a screen.
Are you able to complete most of your chores on the way home from work?
Also grew up on map reading and am a very good navigator from it. But Id have disagree on the map reading versus phone directions. Physical maps have to have understanding of orientation from a bird's eye point of view and cardinal directions. Which is not intuitive to everybody. Directions given on a phone i usually am in the same direction as the user so it's much easier. Not everyone uses the actual map functionality on map apps, just directions and assumes everything will be just fine because %99 for the time it is.
I can complete most of my chores from work, because they're not that many usually.
Are you able to get to your appointments just on time without feeling you are late?
Cardinal direction is always shown on maps, paper or digital. There's literally no way to screw that up unless you don't know how to make sense of the information by reading the map Kindergarten shit. On a mobile device, it could often be harder, as the labels and letters don't scale appropriately for readability and the map repositions when you re-orient it.
I don't have appointments often enough to have such concerns at all.
