Yes, it's silly. Although from a sellers perspective I totally get it, as a consumer I find it annoying.

No, but I was baptised and have the whole 'the first names thing'. My grandmother insisted. She took me to church once as a young girl and said if I didn't like it, she wouldn't make me go again - I never went again. Pretty buildings though and very peaceful, I visit them regularly, but for very different reasons than prayer.
