As you're a big fan of hobby posts on here....what do you think is your favorite/most enjoyable hobby?

bonus question, do you think you could turn it into a business/career?

If you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life, but if you do your hobbies for work you'll never be able to enjoy them without feeling the need to hustle harder

Putting the drama into the drama forum I see.

I'm sure Busty will answer when she's ready, I think you'll find my reply doesn't actually prevent that in any way, but I appreciate your Christmas spirit!

How do you become someone as amazing as you?

This post will be random because I was trying to think of what to say:

Here is some general life advice i've followed that I figure might help someone here:
1. Make all the mistakes, but learn from them
2. Learning to love myself and be kinder to myself. Including praising a non-conventional body type, genuinely liking who I am and what I look like. Not basing my self-esteem on trivial things was the best thing I ever did. It's cool if I'm not everyone's cup of tea. It's cool to just exist as an unconventionally attractive person.
3. I stopped caring what anyone thinks about me when it comes to my fashion aesthetic, my hobbies, and my identity. Most won't understand and i'm not here to try and explain it. Sometimes I like Barbie's pink aesthetic and it's not that deep.
4. Labels are not for everyone but it helped me find comfort by having a few. Nobody needs to use labels, but for me they are an important tool to me.
5. Confidence is a skill. Sometimes you just need to wear the weird clothes, or be active in a weird hobby community, and live the way you want to without caring about society. Most of the time, nobody gives a shit what you're doing in public anyway.

It's been freeing to stop trying to conform to society's standards because I never will.

I mean, I love collecting. Mostly Sailor Moon stuff, plushies, vintage toys, Hello Kitty stuff. I would also say I spend the majority of my free time writing novels or short stories. I also combine collecting with fashion. I love clothes, high heels, and makeup and collect rare garments. I'd say those are the three things I do the most.

I used to have a business selling collectibles. I used to flip Funko pops and stuff like that. Honestly big reason I quit is because some of this stuff I'd sit on for months and it never sells. Or people have more money to be able to purchase more Japanese auctions. Everyone's flipping stuff now. It's a difficult thing to get back into.

I would say I've been able to monetize some of my hobbies, but tbh. I don't have the spoons to fully invest in it. Being an artist is exhausting. That involves working harder than I do now. And I do art for myself these days. I used to do costume commissions and other things like that. I feel like fast fashion and cosplay shops on ali express have totally made it impossible to make a living wage doing that.

If you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life, but if you do your hobbies for work you'll never be able to enjoy them without feeling the need to hustle harder

You can do both. I just feel like sometimes you can be good at something artistic and not have to monetize it. You can just do art for yourself. I think lots of people spend a lot of time trying to monetize something that should just be enjoyed casually/for fun.

If the color pink didnt exist and instead was more of a pukey brown color (lets say ochre) would you still wear it? or would you choose something in the red spectrum?

If pink didn't exist or it existed as a brown. I probably would not wear it. It would mostly be a pastel color or i'd probably be wearing more red or all black. I either wear all pink or all black. But I have other colors I like. I really like lavender. I'd maybe transition to lavender.

What do you think you were in previous life what do you think you will be in the next life?

Have you found users to sometimes be far different as a person 1on1 versus how they are in public? I.e. Public persona

Not saying flirting or dating is your thing BUT if you were interested in someone online. Do you wait for them to make first move?

You have to give up your love for birds and choose another favorite. What's your 2nd choice

1. I'm not sure I see a difference between public & private personas. I do chat a lot in PMs and I think almost everyone keeps the same energy with me. It's been pretty consistent. I have had trolls come to my PM and apologize for being dumb fucks. But that doesn't happen often. I feel like i'm good at reading people. Those putting on a fake persona or pretending are not as clever as they think, and I rarely involve myself with those people beyond doing moderator things.

2. I dislike traditional gender rules. I don't conform to what society says "women" should be doing. That being said i'm intimidating and rarely get approached irl. If I want someone to notice me, I always approach first. I approached my ex first. I don't online date. I don't think anyone's serious or mature. It's fine to live in a fantasy land, but people should be up front with that if that's what they want to do.

3. Do you mean animals? If birds didn't exist i'd maybe be into cats. I like cats and grew up with them. But I like birds more.

I didn't purposely leave this unread... I was thinking about this to try and give a serious answer. Truth is I don't know anything about my family history. I don't know if I believe in previous lives or next lives. I'm content just trying to satisfy what i'm doing right now. And live the best way I can.

But if I had to answer. In my past life i'd definitely be a witch (not like spell casting Harry Potter fantasy stuff) but exiled from my home country for being too weird or refusing to worship a God, or something that's really obvious where I refuse to conform. But idk, living deep in the middle of the woods in a Baba Yaga hut in my cottage core vibes sounds nice. And being a cryptid of local folklore, the natives tell their future generation to stay away from. Also, I was a good gardener who outlived her husband by several decades by growing poisonous plants that he mysteriously ate.

I'm not thinking that far ahead to think about the next life.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
