Bots and dodgy stuff in chatrooms

I've only been on here 3 weeks or so, but I notice there are regular bots / spammers and perhaps scammers frequently in the main rooms. Not sure if I should report or help to stamp them out, or what the general tolerance for such stuff is.
Example - one name-changing user in roleplay posts probably scores of times a day a rotating series of short messages, I tried Pm ing them a couple of times and get an image with a msg service url. Presumably a scammer or solicitator. Name changes regularly through the day.
Another - a user with changing name spams rooms with an image that asks if 'any crim lawyers here'.

From what I read, both of these might break the rules. But whatever, they fill the rooms with garbage, and they appear to be set up to make it hard to get rid of them (banning a name just means they are back an hour later).

I'm happy to report these, or help to stamp out some of the dross, if I know what is effective.

Use the report function with appropriate proof or send proof to a moderator.

Is there any interest in trying to get rid of the ones who just change name all the time, and for whom a ban does very little?
It seems that their methods could be profiled and targeted somehow to keep them off (although I'm a software developer, so I know that it might take work that is not easy to do to a customised system). I'm happy to try and report, but if I see them just coming back within an hour or two, my enthusiasm will die rapidly.

Best (and sizable) efforts to control spammers and scammers are being made—their methods are being profiled and appropriate responses are being constantly deployed. In addition to automated and manual responses, we do rely on reporting.

Internet isn't how it used to be just ten or even five years ago.

A question - the Report box on chat is very small and there doesn't seem to be a way to add images - how do we provide image evidence?

Yes, I've been round on the net for over 20 yrs and it is not like it was then either!

Each photo can be reported. When you click on a photo a button on the bottom is to report the photo.
