Do many forum people ever use chat any more?

Never its such a headache lol did in the beginning but was shocked by the amount of rude men whereas if they are rude here its not tolerated

Nope, stopped giving online therapy and free counseling a while ago @ chat. Forum is better.

I try to jump in but it’s a chaotic mess and I have already witness a few fights. Can’t keep it all straight in the chaos. The members only isn’t too bad but sometimes feels a bit slow lol

I leave the nick in chat for the occasional good conversation but never even watch the goings on in main, let alone participate.
I spend far more productive time here on the forum or in MS Word, writing.

I will chat more to someone one on one if they have engaged in chat in the main room, by joining in on the conversation or even starting a convo with me there ... tagging someone so they know you are talking to them helps.
If someone just pms me without any initial hat in the room I usually ignore it.
But then that’s just my experience

My secret is, have something else to do. Play on google, read things, watch movies or music clips, learn a new language, or like me, spend the day writing. Then I only need tab back to chat when a PM goes 'ding'. I am not relying on it for entertainment or amusement.

If the Pm isn't to my liking, a simple 'no thanks' and I get back to MS Word.

I am sorry to hear that. I can see that attraction for someone interesting to chat with then.

No need to be sorry; like a book, when one chapter ends, another begins. Life goes on; only a lot different then before. Dating in your early 50's is different then in your 20s or 30s.

I tend to pour myself into my work; which is a crazy schedule, 12 hours at a time, nights then days, then days into nights; this makes it difficult to meet anyone interesting. Thus the need to interact with others. Chat it would seem to be the perfect place to communicate with others. But as with anything in life; it is hard to break the ice.

Not to mention most of the chats are 80-90% dickpic spam or cat calls. Usually one conversation between 2-3 people is actually happening

@Smurfy81 I have found the forums to be a great place to chat. So much better then the chat rooms. Join in on the threads and comment on people’s profiles. Doesn’t matter day or night is always someone around looking to chat

Great advice. I will try to become more active in the forums. I always worry that I will say the wrong thing or be taken the wrong way. I can be a smartass at times.
