Hope you get to experience what you seek as I imagine you’ll enjoy it.
And you are not too old at 38 jeez I wish I was that yn* again. If hubby is like most guys he’ll be fine with it.
 
38 may not be too old, but I don't, or didn't know if I should or not.

My husband still hasn't said anything, not sure if I should push it a little.

I know you’re probably looking for answers from females but I know how you feel in a way. I have been curious for a few years but I don’t think I’ll ever pursue it. As to hubby maybe just ask him if he’s given it anymore thought but don’t push too much as he might feel pressured into saying yes and that might cause problems further down the line. I hope he agrees as that itch will only need more scratching as time goes by and it shouldn’t be a threat to him as you say you only want to experiment.
 
I will try and speak to him again about this sometime from Friday/weekend.

You are never too old for sex. And 30s-40s are the height of a woman's sex drive. If you are that drawn to it, it's probably not going to disappear anytime soon. I never experimented when I was younger so I have lived it up since I turned 36. It's been wonderful! Be safe and I recommend getting to know people a bit before you jump in, although sometimes it can be more exciting that way :p

My bi friend will be with me, so I don't end up with someone who is looking for someone else who is more experienced.

It's more than experience. As long as you have one person who is more experienced, then you'll be fine. It's about the experience :p Enjoy yourself! Although if it's your friends that may be better starting off if you feel more comfortable. Will you let us all know how it goes?
