Dr Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb - Stanley Kubrick (starring Peter Sellers)


The blackest of comedies, this is the end sequence. For those who don't know it, the single base point of the paranoia creating the situation is all about the fluoridation of drinking water. This was 1964, why still the stupidity now?
The end scene with Vera Lynn was suggested by Spike Milligan, the original (and shot) scene was a food fight by those in the war room.

Bob Newhart did these one-sided phone conversations. He is much younger in this cover photo but I remember seeing him do this bit on TVback when I was a kid.
