Command Line Instructions

Can someone share the syntax used to initiate a PM without clicking a user? I chat from my phone, and the pop-up user list isn't very effective. Waiting for a post from someone to start a PM is tedious. I assume that, just like whispering, a PM can be started with a forward slash command. Help a brutha out, willya?

Thanks

Can you not just insert the individual's username at the end of the string? I'm not saying that's how, I'm asking.

You can type "/msg username" or "/query username" (without the quotes) to open a tab. You can also use a . instead of /, like ".msg someone".

You can also put a message after the username for these commands to send a message right away when it opens, but that part is optional.

And just in case you didn't know, the "person" button in the lower right corner toggles the userlist on and off (it's hidden by default on small screens), so you could still find someone in the list even on mobile.

Thanks. So much for your help. I find the user list a bit wonky on my phone. It doesn't really allow me to get the normal options menu on Touch, and once I've called it, it doesn't like to retract properly. The command line will prove very satisfying, thanks.

You could also type "@Username" to create a clickable link and click on it to select "private chat," which will open a PM window.
